Computer games are now more likely to be played by Indian men than Indian women – report

Today, the number of Indian women who say they have played computer games at least once a week increased by 17 per cent from 2011, according to a study conducted by the research firm Nielsen.

The study, which was published in the journal Social Science Research, found that more than 90 per cent of Indian men played computer game at least weekly in the last year.

According to the study, almost a quarter of Indian boys (24 per cent) played computer-related games at some point in the past year, compared to 16 per cent women.

The number of women who play computer games, which is often referred to as the imitation game or the “computer game of the future”, also increased by 5 per cent between 2011 and 2015.
