The NFL has released its Week 1 injuries report, and it contains some big surprises.
The league will only disclose the injury numbers for players who were active during Week 1.
In other words, the injury reports will only show players who played in Week 1, and not players who did not play at all.
Here are the most surprising injuries:On the defensive line, linebacker Tarell Brown is out for the season after injuring his right ankle in practice.
He is listed as questionable for Week 2.
The Steelers announced he had surgery for a torn ACL, but that was later confirmed.
The Chiefs, who were expected to have a strong defensive line for the first time in years, will not have safety Eric Berry or linebacker Zach Cunningham for the game against the Broncos.
The Texans, who had an offensive line that could hold its own against the Patriots, are expected to play in a “big game” in the AFC South against the Steelers.
The Texans will start with cornerback Kevin Johnson, who missed Week 1 with an injury.
